Course Description:
This course will focus on building students up and preparing them for Algebra 1. Students will work together and individually as they make connections, discover relationships, figure out strategies, discover problem solving techniques, and explain their thinking. Students will focus on skill maintenance, building number concepts, problem solving, and practicing new skills. In this course we will uncover the building blocks, concepts, and skills that will lead to success in Algebra and real life applications. This course is cumulative, meaning everything that you encounter will keep coming back. Therefore, it is important to keep up on your work.
Rules (there is only one… besides all of the rules in the BHS Student Handbook):
1. Be respectful. This includes but is not limited to…
Consequences:
You will face consequences, good and bad. If rules are broken in this classroom, consequences will range from warnings to referrals depending on severity and frequency. Students in this course are young adults so this should not be a problem. Parental phone calls will occur, however, if problems cannot be handled on an individual level.
